AceShowbiz - Drake is receiving criticism for his generous gesture on Christmas day. The "Certified Lover Boy" artist was accused of giving away stacks of "fake" cash after a video that saw him passing out some cash circulated online.

In a clip that was shared by DJ Akademiks on Sunday, December 26, the "One Dance" hitmaker was seen dishing out stacks of cash from his car to strangers in Toronto. The footage saw the 35-year-old singer smiling at the camera while sitting in his car. A woman behind the camera could be heard saying, "Oh my god, this is crazy," while a man added, "Thank you, bro. I appreciate it guys, take care." In response, Drake said, "You already know."

The lucky person who received money from Drake captioned the clip, "@ChampagnePapi giving away racks for Christmas. Life's f**king unreal man." The said person went on to call the "Degrassi: The Next Generation" alum the "legend of the city."

In the comment section of DJ Akademiks' post, however, many social media critics believed that the money wasn't real and fake. "N***a got Monopoly money," one commented. Another person added, "Drake giving away fake dollars."

Another person chimed in, "That was fake money whaaaaa." In the meantime, a fourth asked, "What kinda currency was that?" while a fifth said, "I realized canada and US don't have the same currency."

Despite receiving negative reactions, Drake was also applauded for his generosity. "Drake literally has so much money i've heard tons of stories about him giving people 10k or more just while hanging out," one fan gushed. A separate fan dubbed his kind gesture "cool" as saying, "It's cool bc drake lookin like, 'Why'd you pull the camera out for this.' "

In celebrating Christmas, Drake shared a sweet video via Instagram that saw himself playfully wrestling with his 4-year-old son Adonis and another little boy. "Merry Christmas From The Gang," the "God's Plan" hitmaker captioned the 30-second clip, in which he could be seen laughing on the floor as he was tackled by the two little boys.

In the comments section, many of the rapper's famous friends shared kind messages. "Awww so cute ! [heart emoji]," wrote Lil' Kim, while Chance the Rapper added a single red heart emoji.
