AceShowbiz - Ludacris is embracing the spirit of giving this holiday season. The Tej Parker depicter in "F9" was applauded by his fans and followers for giving out food gift cards to the homeless ahead of Christmas.

On Sunday, December 19, the 44-year-old rapper/actor made use of his Instagram page to share a heartwarming clip that showed him giving a gift card to a homeless man. In the footage, the hip-hop star could be seen going incognito by wearing a black face mask and black sunglasses.

"My pops used to always say, 'If you give a homeless person money they're just going to go buy booze wit it.' I always wanted to disagree with him because as a kid, in my heart I always felt that couldn't be 100% true," Ludacris captioned his post. "So I've been masked up/disguised experimenting in these streets, and giving the homeless food gift cards instead so that they have more of an incentive to buy food."

Ludacris went on to add, "I flipped his theory, and i added my own twist to it because I REFUSE to NOT believe in HOPE." The "What's Your Fantasy" rapper then concluded his post by adding hashtags that read, "#merryludacrismas #tistheseason #lovewins."

In the comment section, many social media users praised him for his thoughtful gesture. "Wonderful thing ya doing. God has a place for people like you," one commented, while another chimed in, "This is beautiful! Great video. Kudos to you, Ludacris."

"I've given homeless money or food. they need help in many ways. Happy Luda Christmas [love emoji]," one fan wished him a merry Christmas. An Instagram user penned, "People are homeless for a reason. Some choose to be homeless. Some are homeless because they are mentally suffering which is causing them to be debilitated. They can't maintain a job or their day to day or daily assisted living chores. They just can't function... God bless you, Luda [love emoji]."

While many applauded Ludacris for his generosity and kindness, some criticized him for recording the good deeds. "Do good deeds in private. Dont put the man on front street so you could feel good about yourself…you [sic] heart in the right place, but it's deeper than that," one critic commented.

"This man just gave them 50 bucks. May I put 100 on there at least lol," a second social media user added. In the meantime, a third believed that Ludacris documented his act just to maintain his good image as a public figure as saying, "Celebrities be so bored chile."
