Taking to his social media page, the Cleveland Browns quarterback says that the football league's rules don't 'make any sense' to him amid the rising numbers of players testing positive for the virus.

AceShowbiz - Baker Mayfield is calling out the NFL for its inconsistent COVID rules. Taking to his social media platform, the Cleveland Browns quarterback lashed out at the football league and told them to "make up your damn mind" about how they're going to handle everything.

"@NFL Make up your damn mind on protocols. Showing up and making only 3 teams test?!?" the 26-year-old tweeted on Thursday, December 16. He went on to add, "All so you can keep the game as scheduled to make money."

In a separate Twitter post, Baker continued, "Actually caring about player safety would mean delaying the game with this continuing at the rate it is…." The football player further stressed, "But to say you won't test vaccinated players if they don't have symptoms, then to pull this randomly. Doesn't make any sense to me."

Baker, who tested positive for COVID earlier this week, didn't elaborate on what his "making only 3 teams test" comment specifically meant. However, he said that the Browns were not tested on Thursday morning and were able to gather for practice, but were then tested following the session.

"Tell me if this makes sense…. No tests this morning… then let our team gather for practice… then show up after practice to test them," Baker stated in a following tweet. He then concluded his post as saying, "Something seems off here."

Baker Mayfield called out NFL for inconsistent COVID rules.

Baker's complaints came after the NFL and NFLPA released a memo updating its COVID-19 protocols. Under these new protocols, players who previously tested positive for the deadly virus have the opportunity to return from quarantine quicker as long as they register a negative test and remain asymptomatic.

Previously, a return required two negative tests 24 hours apart. However, it's uncertain how helpful this will be for the Browns, which are supposed to play with a decimated roster in just two days. In addition to Baker, his backup, Case Keenum, also entered COVID-19 protocols this week, which means third-string quarterback Nick Mullens is expected to start for the Browns against the Raiders on Saturday, December 18.
