AceShowbiz - Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan's divorce battle is still ongoing. According to their lawyers, the "21 Jump Street" actor and his ex-wife are now currently working on a settlement over "Magic Mike" money.
According to court documents obtained by Radar, the former couple's lawyers were in court on Thursday, December 9 as part of the stars' lengthy divorce battle. The hearing was scheduled to set a date for trial, which the "Step Up" actress had requested due to unresolved issues she had with the 41-year-old actor.
The lawyers informed the court that Channing and Jenna were "working on a settlement" over the "Magic Mike" money. The former spouses also asked that no trial date be set and instead a hearing date be scheduled for February 24, 2022.
The money at the center of the dispute is the money made from the hit dance franchise, including revenue from the films, live stage show and the upcoming HBO Max reality show. Jenna had found choreographers for the live show and took care of their family while Channing worked on the project.
Channing and Jenna were married in 2009 after meeting on the set of the dance film "Step Up". The two filed for divorce and were declared legally single in 2019. The mother-of-two requested joint legal and physical custody of their daughter.
Recently, Jenna opened up about their past marriage and how Channing "wasn't available to be with us, for the most part" after giving birth to their baby girl back in 2013 due to being busy with work commitments. She said in August, "I had to travel with [Everly] and at the time, Chan wasn't available to be with us for the most part." She continued recalling, "So, it was me, my doula and Evie all by ourselves traveling at six weeks."
"That was really hard because that was long hours," Jenna remembered the long trip. The 41-year-old mom also noted that she had to take her baby daughter to work, "I did have her on set with me constantly. It was just really difficult."
Jenna continued to explain the hardships she faced "without a partner" weeks after her first child's arrival. She said, "I was breastfeeding, I was pumping, I was without a partner, I mean it was just craziness."
