The 'Nick Cannon Show' host pays tribute to his son with a new tattoo on his rib after the baby passed away at five months old following a struggle with an aggressive brain tumor.

AceShowbiz - Nick Cannon has a new tattoo. The television host got the new ink to honor his son Zen who passed away around Thanksgiving holiday following a battle with Hydrocephalus, a form of brain cancer. The five-month-old baby was depicted as an angel on Nick's rib.

"This is a week where I've seen so much love. More love than I've probably ever experienced so even in the midst of a loss, I gotta say thank you to y'all," he told his viewers on his show. "Last night, I got the opportunity to go get a tattoo of my son Zen as an angel on my rib."

He could only show a picture of it because his rib was still bandaged. "I'm still all bandaged up and it hurts right here right now… It was a lot of pain but it was so well worth it," he explained. "I enjoyed every moment of the experience to forever have my son right here as my rib, right here on my side, as my angel."

Zen was Nick's youngest child. The baby was diagnosed with brain tumor after he was taken to doctors as mom and dad noticed he had breathing issue and his head seemed large. His tumor got worse despite surgery to drain the fluid which had started to build up in his head. He later died after a trip to ocean with his parents.

Nick explained why he returned to work so soon after the heartbreaking loss, saying it's easier for him to be with fans instead of being holed up at home. "If I wasn't here, I'd be probably be in bed, curled up. But you guys give me a reason to get up and get out of bed each and every day," he opened up.

He said of his baby mama Alyssa Scott, "She is making it five minutes at a time, you know what I mean? You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only option. We here. We smiling through the pain."
