Details surrounding the death of the rising Compton rapper are scarce, but the tragic news comes two years after the YG affiliate survived a drive-by shooting.

AceShowbiz - Hip-hop community is once again rocked by the death of one of its own. Rapper Slim 400, whose birth name was Vincent Cohran, has reportedly passed away after getting shot in Los Angeles on Wednesday evening, December 8.

Details surrounding the passing of the Compton, California emcee are still scarce. No Jumper was the one who broke the news, and Gossip of the City reported that he was killed after being shot 9 times.

While the news has not been confirmed by Slim 400's team or his family, condolences have been pouring in on social media. "Hope this isn't true," one person commented on his last Instagram post, seemingly in disbelief.

"Wtffffff nooooo… u were always so chill and down to earth. Prayers to your family and friends," another wrote. A third person said, "my dawg ! RIP mafia." Another mourned, "Rest Easy loved 1."

"Damn Phonk you wasn't done telling yo story!" someone also left a message on Slim's post. Another lamented, "I'm sick about this," as one other begged, "Plz stop the madness."

Slim 400 was known for his deep connections on the L.A. music scene and his affiliation with rapper YG. He was famous for his single "Bruisin", released in 2017, featuring YG and Sad Boy Loko. He also collaborated with the "My N***a" spitter on the latter's tracks "Turn Up" (2013) "Word Is Bond" (2016).

News about Slim 400's tragic passing comes two years after he survived a drive-by shooting in his hometown. At the time, he sustained life-threatening injuries after getting struck with 10 bullets.

"I just feel like when you meant to be here and God have a plan for you, it ain't no stoppin' it," he said one month after being released from the hospital. "I hit the ground thinking it was over. My family came out, kept me alive, talking to me, dragging me in the house while they still shooting...My family, love her to death for just saving me. I just feel like I'm blessed just to be here 'cause I could have just died then and there."
