Following the footsteps of Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston, and Jennifer Lopez, the 'Bruised' director will be presented with the honor by 'WAP' hitmaker Cardi B.

AceShowbiz - Halle Berry will be honored with the People's Icon Award next month (December 2021) - and her "Bruised" collaborator Cardi B will hand her the gong.

The actress-turned-filmaker paired with the rap star to produce the soundtrack for her directorial debut, "Bruised", in which she also stars as a mixed martial arts fighter.

Now, the "WAP" hitmaker will present her new pal with the accolade at the People's Choice Awards, on December 7, which will air on both NBC and E! in the United States.

It's the fourth year running a woman has been selected for the top honor by bosses at the event, which tabulates votes from the public in selecting its award winners.

Melissa McCarthy, Jennifer Aniston, and Jennifer Lopez were named People's Icon Award winners in 2018, 2019, and 2020 respectively.

"Throughout her career, Halle Berry has broken down barriers, directed and starred in diverse roles that have paved the way for others in the industry," said E! News and NBCUniversal Entertainment Television and Streaming executive Jen Neal in a statement.

"In addition to her filmography accolades and trendsetting ethos, Berry is known for her philanthropic work with women, children, and underserved communities," Neal went on elaborating. "She is an icon of our time and for all these reasons and more, we are honored to present her with 'The People's Icon' award."

Awards season is already off to a busy start for Cardi, who will make her debut as a prizegiving host at the American Music Awards on Sunday, November 21.
