The revamped 2012 album was streamed over 90 million times in the first 24 hours since its release, beating the record previously held by her 2020 lockdown album, 'Folklore'.

AceShowbiz - Taylor Swift's new album, "Red (Taylor's Version)", has shattered first-day Spotify streaming records after fans raced to check out the new release on Friday, November 12.

The revamped 2012 album was streamed over 90 million times in the first 24 hours since its release, beating the record previously held by Taylor. Her 2020 lockdown album, "Folklore", was streamed 80.6 million times in its first day.

The feat additionally helped the "You Need to Calm Down" hitmaker to become Spotify's most-streamed female in a day with more than 122.9 million streams on Friday.

The rebooted "Red" features an extended 10-minute version of fan favorite song "All Too Well", which dropped on Thursday night.

A short film accompanying the single, featuring Sadie Sink and Dylan O'Brien, debuted on Friday evening and Swift performed the entire song on "Saturday Night Live".

About the extended version of "All Too Well", Swift said that it was the song she was most excited for her fans to hear on the revamped LP. During her appearance on "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon", she explained that she wrote the tune when she "was going through a bit of a sad time."

The 31-year-old went on to admit that she arrived for band rehearsal "really upset and sad." She added, "And so I started playing guitar and just kind of playing the same four chords over and over again."

"I started ad libbing what I was going through and what I was feeling, and it went on, and the song kept building and building and building in intensity, and the song just went on for about, you know, 10 to 15 minutes of us doing this," she continued. "Then we got done with that and then we moved on to the regularly scheduled rehearsal."

"At the end of the day, my mum came up to my sound guy and she's like, 'Is there any chance that you recorded that?' and he was like, 'Yep,' and handed her a CD. That's the thing I'm the most excited about, 'cause it's the original lyrics."
