The 'Life's Too Short' actor recalls ruining the star-studded Hollywood party hosted by the former 'Saturday Night Live' star after accidentally consuming marijuana.

AceShowbiz - "Extras" star Stephen Merchant once accidentally took drugs at a star-studded Hollywood party - and shattered a glass window as a result.

The British funnyman was at a bash hosted by American comedienne Sarah Silverman when he consumed marijuana without realising it.

"I was once at a cool Hollywood party hosted by the comedian Sarah Silverman where I ate a piece of chocolate that I didn't realize was laced with pot. I was immediately obliterated by it," he told The Guardian.

"I'm six foot seven but it turns out I do not have the constitution of Willie Nelson."

And Stephen was left in such a daze, he trashed the scene by mistake.

"I went out to get some air and, the next thing I knew, I had just walked through an 8 foot plate glass window," he explains.

"One minute I was inside, the next I was outside surrounded by shattered glass, and the party had gone silent like a saloon bar in an old western."

Merchant revealed the incident amounted to "embarrassment on a cinematic level" but he soon found a silver lining.

"Once I'd worked out I was OK, my first thought was: this could be great for a scene in a TV show," he quipped.

Stephen Merchant's latest feature film is Doug Liman's comedy heist "Locked Down" fronted by Chiwetel Ejiofor and Anne Hathaway. It's released in January this year.

He is next to lend his voice to holiday movie "A Boy Called Christmas". He will also voice a character in animated film "The Ark and the Aardvark" and lead a new series titled "The Outlaws".
