'The Crown' star is joining the 'Titanic' actress as well as Jude Law, Marion Cotillard and Andrea Riseborough in the cast ensemble for the Ellen Kuras-directed project.

AceShowbiz - Kate Winslet will play mum to "The Crown" star Josh O'Connor in her upcoming film about World World Two photographer Lee Miller, alongside Jude Law, Marion Cotillard and Andrea Riseborough.

A former Vogue cover model and muse to famous artists like Man Ray, Lee's images revealed the horrors of allied soldiers' lives as they fought on the frontlines, and those of Jews incarcerated and killed in concentration camps.

Kate was previously announced as the star and producer of the project, "Lee", to be directed by Ellen Kuras, and filmed next year (2022) in Eastern Europe and London, and now that the Oscar winner's cast members have been finalized, she tells Deadline she can't wait to tell the story of this "incredible woman."

"This is absolutely not a biopic...," Winslet says. "What we wanted to do was find the most interesting decade in her life, the one that defined who she was and what she became because of what she went through. It was the period from 1938 to 1948 that took her right through the war and her most defining time. That is the story we want people to know about Lee more than the many other parts of her life."

Kate explains Miller "has been misunderstood," in part because of her life as a stunningly beautiful model. "She's a woman who needs to be explored, celebrated, revered. There's so much to her," she adds.

"What she did, as a female photographer on the front lines during WWII, so much of what was documented was not just giving a voice to the voiceless, but it was educating people on what actually happened during the war," the 46-year-old actress continues explaining. "You have to remember, people were trying to cover it up. She had to make them believe it, because no one would."
