Having just turned 49 years old, the Goop founder admits she is working to change her own focus as she tries to accept her appearance while going through the aging process.

AceShowbiz - Actress Gwyneth Paltrow is trying to accept her appearance as she ages, but wouldn't go back in time for the world.

The Goop founder turned 49 last month (September 2021) and she's planning on being kinder to herself ahead of her milestone birthday when she turns 50 next year (2022).

"Unfortunately, we're always looking at ourselves with a critical eye," Gwyneth tells People magazine as she chats about her upcoming Netflix series "Sex, Love & Goop".

"I would love to get to a place where I don't do that anymore. I want to show up for myself in a more loving way, because it's all going south from here! There's nothing we can do about it."

The Oscar winner, who shares Apple, 17, and Moses, 15, with ex-husband, Coldplay frontman Chris Martin - found the changes to her body most apparent after she welcomed her daughter into the world.

"I was just coming out of my 20s when you're in that sexy, young girl phase. And then you're like, 'Well, how do I reconcile who I am now with that?' For me, it was really about giving myself time to be a mother, and letting my body dictate where it was going."

And Paltrow admits it is "hard" accepting body changes as people get older.

"We have all these expectations. Some women feel when they have kids that they don't feel sexual because their body isn't back yet. But it's like, 'Who said our bodies have to look a certain way?' It's hard as you age and change. But it's about bringing a wider spectrum of acceptance."

And Gwyneth, who wed producer Brad Falchuk in 2018, is working to change her own focus.

"For me, as I go through the aging process and really start it, I realize it's less about, 'Oh, I have this wrinkle, am I going to fix it or not?' and more, 'Do I feel vibrant?' "

The "Shakespeare in Love" star says she's focusing on meditation and eating right - and "not having tons of alcohol, which I had way too much of during the pandemic."

She adds, "I would never want to go back to my 20s, or even my 30s for that matter. I know myself, I like myself and I am so grateful for the wisdom that comes with age."
