The 'My Heart Will Go On' hitmaker has stalled her upcoming residency shows in the Sin City due to health issues as she struggles with 'persistent muscle spasms.'

AceShowbiz - Health issues have prompted Celine Dion to delay the launch of her latest Las Vegas residency.

The singer's shows in November (21) and January at the Resorts World Theatre have been axed as she battles "persistent muscle spasms", which are preventing her from performing.

She's in so much pain, she can't even rehearse for the new show, according to Variety.

"I'm heartbroken by this," Celine said in a statement. "My team and I have been working on our new show for the past eight months, and to not be able to open this November saddens me beyond words."

"My partners at Resorts World Las Vegas and AEG have been working around the clock to get this brand-new state-of-the-art theatre ready, and it's absolutely beautiful. I feel so bad that I'm letting them down, and I'm especially sorry for disappointing all the fans who've been making their plans to come to Las Vegas. Now, I have to focus on getting better... I want to get through this as soon as I can."

Celine Dion previously credited her residency show in the Sin City for giving her an opportunity to really be there for her family and children without sacrificing her career.

"Vegas has given us, my family and I, an opportunity to be a mum, for them to be kids, for me to perform for my fans, and to practise my passion, and every night come home," she explained. "That is rare, so I really feel that Vegas has given me a motherhood, and the best as an artist, the best of both worlds (sic)."
