The 'Fire and Rain' singer and the 'Rock Me on the Water' star will donate proceeds from their tour stop in New Orleans, Louisiana to help families affected by Hurricane Ida.

AceShowbiz - James Taylor and Jackson Browne will donate the proceeds from an upcoming New Orleans, Louisiana tour stop to victims of Hurricane Ida.

All profits from Saturday's (16Oct21) gig at the Smoothie King Center will benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Greater New Orleans & Acadiana.

Officials at the organisation help deliver food, water, and supplies to areas affected by the summer (21) storm.

"This is such a generous gift of love, and means even more with music being such an integral part of the soul of South Louisiana," Second Harvest's president and CEO Natalie Jayroe said in a statement. "We are honored that these two world-renowned artists and their fans are transforming the joy of a live performance into something even larger for our community."

James Taylor and Jackson Browne are not the only celebrities lending their hands to help families affected by hurricane Ida in Kentucky.

Earlier this year, Beyonce Knowles teamed up with celebrity chef Jose Andres to feed Kentucky residents in the wake of the natural disaster.

"Praying for all those affected by Hurricane Ida and the families that have evacuated to my hometown Houston... we are working again with @breadoflifehtx in Houston to help evacuated families," the singer tweeted.

Reese Witherspoon penned a similar post, "My heart goes out to all the families and first responders dealing with #HurricaneIda Please stay safe." Viola Davis echoed the message, "Praying for those affected by Hurricane Ida. Strong prayers!!"
