AceShowbiz - Singers Garth Brooks and Darius Rucker are set to celebrate the life and career of late country legend Charley Pride as part of an upcoming U.S. TV special.
Fellow artists Luke Combs, Mickey Guyton, Jimmie Allen, Reba McEntire, Wynonna Judd, Alan Jackson, Lee Ann Womack, and Gladys Knight will also feature in "CMT Giants: Charley Pride", a 90-minute show saluting the memory of the pioneering black country icon.
Combs will also team up with Reyna Roberts and Robert Randolph to perform a Pride classic for the event.
"I am delighted to have so many 'giants' in the business celebrate the legacy of Pride," Charley's widow, Rozene Pride, shares in a statement.
"He would have been so happy to see the artists give so generously of their time and talent to honor him. This truly is a testament to the impact that he had on the country music community for so many years."

"CMT Giants: Charley Pride" will premiere on U.S. network CMT on August 25.
Pride lost his battle with COVID-19 in December 2020, aged 86. His passing was mourned by many including fellow country icon Dolly Parton. "I'm so heartbroken that one of my dearest and oldest friends, Charley Pride, has passed away," she said in her tribute. "It's even worse to know that he passed away from COVID-19. What a horrible, horrible virus. Charley, we will always love you."
