The 'On Chill' rapper reveals he has been dealing with an undisclosed ailment and will take a break from social media to focus on nursing himself back to health.

AceShowbiz - Rapper Wale is taking a step back from social media to focus on his recovery from a serious illness.
The "On Chill" star alerted fans to his planned online absence in an Instagram Story post on Wednesday (07Jul21), revealing he's been struck down by an undisclosed ailment since the weekend (03Jul21).
"I am out of commission," Wale wrote. "I been extremely sick since Saturday I've missed many calls and texts.."
"Thank you to everybody who called wit genuine concern. I ain't sure how long I'll be down but this s**t ain't slight... Soon as I can come back strong I'll be back strong. As for now management will run my socials. Much love, see y'all soon - Wale (sic)."
It's unclear how the rapper's condition will affect plans for his upcoming album, "Folarin 2", which is expected to be released this summer (21).
The project is his first new material in almost two years.
Back in 2019, Wale got candid as he talked about his difficult childhood and how it affected his fatherhood.
"My mother never send me to school and kiss me on the cheek or kiss me goodnight. It's really just a fear but also, we love our parents and we respect them but it's more like a 'did you sweep the floor before I come home from work?' 'You ready for school tomorrow?' "
That's why he struggled to express his love to his daughter because he wasn't "raised like that. I never was like 'ga ga goo goo' and all that stuff. It's love but how I do it. But the feeling is there."
"I never really talk about this with my daughter," he revealed. "I didn't know I was going to struggle connecting emotionally to a baby girl."
