DMX's Fiancee Desiree Lindstrom Calls Him 'Best Father' in Father's Day Tribute Post

In other news, it has been reported that Desiree, who was engaged to the late rapper since 2009, has applied to the court to be legally declared his 'common law wife' though a judge has denied her request.

AceShowbiz - DMX's fiancee Desiree Lindstrom remembered the late rapper on Father's Day. On Sunday, June 20, Desiree celebrated the special day with a heartfelt message for the musician, who died earlier this year.

"SCREAMING HAPPY FATHERS DAY ALL THE WAY TO THE HEAVENS ABOVE…! Earl you were such an amazing, protective, loving, inspiring, hands on, incredible father!" Desiree wrote, referring to the rapper who was born Earl Simmons. "I thank God that @exodus_simmons1 had a father like you! I appreciate every moment you had spent with Exodus."

Desiree went on to gush, "In my eyes you are the best father, a mother could of asked for when it comes to her child! Thanking God and you for all these memories of you being a wonderful father! I love and miss you so much… I know in my heart you are our guardian angel! Please continue to watch over us!"

In her post, Desiree also attached a video of DMX rapping the ABC song to his son Exodus, who could be seen bouncing his body on bed to the music.

In other news, it has been reported that Desiree applied to the court to be legally declared his "common law wife." However, a judge denied her request. If the request had been approved, Desiree, who was engaged to the rapper since 2019, would be able to control his estate and all future earnings from his music.

After DMX passed away in April at the age of 50 due to heart attack, it was reportedly advised for his family to set up an estate to manage his larger expected future earnings from DMX's music. His three adult sons from his marriage to Tashera Simmons, Xavier (28), Tacoma, (21) and Sean (19), are petitioning to be administrators. Also filing to be administrators are Sasha Simmons and Jada Oden, DMX's daughters from other relationships.

"There is no will from DMX and that's a big problem. This is a difficult situation because there are a number of people vying to be named administrators," a source said of the legal battle. "His fiancee Desiree tried to muscle in by asking the court to be named his common-law wife, which means she would have taken precedence over his children. But the court refused."
