The Duchess of Sussex is celebrating as her first kiddie book, featuring the whole family, debuted at the top spot on the New York Times Best Sellers list.

AceShowbiz - Meghan, Duchess of Sussex has thanked fans for supporting her first children's picture book after "The Bench" debuted atop The New York Times Best Sellers list. The illustrated story is told through a mother's eyes and was inspired by the bond between Meghan's husband, Prince Harry, and their now-two-year-old son Archie.

Their newborn daughter, Lilibet Diana, also makes an appearance in a drawing by artist Christian Robinson, who depicts the little girl being cradled in her mother's arms.

"The Bench" hit number one on The New York Times countdown for Children's Picture Books this week (begs14Jun21), and Meghan has taken to the couple's Archewell Foundation website to share a note of gratitude to her fans.

"While this poem began as a love letter to my husband and son, I'm encouraged to see that its universal themes of love, representation and inclusivity are resonating with communities everywhere," she wrote in a message posted on Wednesday. "In many ways, pursuing a more compassionate and equitable world begins with these core values."

"Equally, to depict another side of masculinity - one grounded in connection, emotion, and softness - is to model a world that so many would like to see for their sons and daughters alike," she added. "Thank you for supporting me in this special project."

Meghan previously revealed the book started out as a poem she had penned for Harry as he marked his first Father's Day with Archie in 2019.
