The two country musicians are taking their romance to the next level as they get engaged while celebrating the six-year anniversary of their relationship.

AceShowbiz - Country singers Jay Allen and Kylie Morgan are engaged.

Allen popped the question as he and Kylie stepped onto the stage at Nashville's Whiskey Jam on 31 May (21) - on the same day as the six-year anniversary of their relationship.

"It was such a full-circle moment," Morgan, 25, told People.

The pair are now planning their wedding for around a year's time as Allen told the publication that he didn't want to rush into the engagement.

"I never wanted to press the idea of marriage," he said. "I never wanted it to feel like, 'Oh, this is the next thing that we have to do.' I wanted it to feel right. But for the last year, with the pandemic and everything, we spent so much time together. It was a 'make or break' for a lot of people, but for us, it was thankfully a 'make.' "

The bride-to-be also reminisced her first meeting with fiance as she wrote on Instagram, "I met Jay when I was nineteen years old in a publishing company on music row. I saw him walking down the stairs and in that moment my heart said, 'That's my future husband.' I've never cried more in my life than I did this night. My heart is overflowing from the love and support of our Nashville family."

One of those reaching out to congratulate the couple was the groom-to-be's former football coach. He shared a screenshot of their text exchange and explained, "I got this text from my high school football coach last night."

He added, "This man helped shape me and prepare me for my future in so many ways, and he continues to do so all these years later. Reading through all of your messages now, I've got tears in my eyes. Grateful to God in heaven for bringing all of you remarkable humans into our lives - people that are beautiful, kind, soulful, talented, selfless, and full of love. WE LOVE YOU."
