AceShowbiz - Anna Kendrick is to play a U.S. TV dating show contestant who won a night out with a serial killer in new movie "Rodney & Sheryl".

Netflix has picked up director Chloe Okuno's film, which chronicles Cheryl Bradshaw's relationship with killer Rodney Alcala, whom she met on popular TV show "The Dating Game" in 1978.

One of Alcala's bizarre questions that came back to haunt TV bosses was, "I'm serving you for dinner. What are you called and what do you look like?" Cheryl responded, "I'm called the banana and I look good... Peel me!"

At the time of the show's taping, Alcala had already murdered five women and he had been convicted of the attempted murder of a 12-year-old girl, but he still made it onto the show.

Bradshaw was supposed to go on a chaperoned date with Alcala but told TV bosses she was put off by his behavior.

In 1980, he was sentenced to death but he has successfully appealed his sentence multiple times as the murders he has been linked to mount up.

His execution was postponed indefinitely when California lawmakers declared a moratorium on death penalty cases in 2019.

Alcala, who is currently behind bars in Corcoran, California, may have killed as many as 130 people.

The TV project aside, Anna was accused of having a nasty behavior by a TikTok user named Tahira. She claimed that she had a bad experience when trying to interact with the actress at a book signing event in 2016. She also said that Anna threw fanmails and told her, "I don't look at that stuff."
