Cardi B Seeks Dismissal of Autograph Seeker's Assault Lawsuit

Giovanni Arnold has alleged that the 'Bodak Yellow' hitmaker instructed her security guards to beat him up following a Met Gala after-party in 2018, but she has come up with a number of arguments.

AceShowbiz - Cardi B has urged a judge to dismiss an autograph seeker's assault lawsuit against her, insisting he instigated the alleged attack.

According to documents obtained by TMZ, the "Bodak Yellow" hitmaker claims Giovanni Arnold can be heard on video verbally attacking her and her husband Offset, after unsuccessfully and aggressively trying to get her autograph following a Met Gala after-party in 2018.

According to Cardi, Arnold can be heard shouting, "Please beat me up. I'll take all of your money."

In his lawsuit, Arnold alleged three of Cardi's security guards beat him up, but she counters the unnamed assailants did not work for her and she didn't instruct them to beat up anyone.

She also pokes fun at her accuser's claims she was a threat to him, explaining she was seven months pregnant at the time.

Back in 2018, TMZ shared a video of a man being repeatedly kicked and punched by three security guards outside the Mark Hotel in New York City in the early hours of May 8. It could also be seen after the group left the beaten men on the ground, another person came in to stomp on his face.

The alleged assault was investigated by New York Police Department detectives. No charges, however, were filed. The case was closed in March 2019. Cardi's husband Offset was also slapped with a separate lawsuit Arnold.

Legal woe aside, Cardi has been preparing the launch of her own beauty line. In late March, she shared on Instagram, "This year I will be coming out with a hairline that I been working on at home for my hair and my daughters. however, I think is time for people to educate themselves on nationality, race and ethnicity."

"Being Hispanic/Latina don't make your hair long, don't make your skin light or don't make your face features slim specially Latin countries from the Caribbean islands," she continued. "Dna have something to do with your hair not your nationality but guess what you can always maintain your hair .....and one more things not everyone that speaks Spanish is Mexican."
