The wife of Jay-Z sings a cappella medley of 'Brown Skin Girl', 'Halo' and 'Love on Top' to honor 13-year-old Lyric 'Yhung' Chanel, who passed away from brain cancer and anaplastic ependymoma.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles has offered tribute to her late fan. Upon learning that Lyric "Yhung" Chanel has passed away from brain cancer and anaplastic ependymoma, the "Crazy in Love" songstress made a special heartfelt medley for her.

The 39-year-old R&B star shared her dedication for Lyric, who battled the illness for two years, on YouTube. In the clip titled "REST IN PEACE LYRIC CHANEL", she sang a cappella medley of "Brown Skin Girl", "Halo" and "Love on Top" while old clips and pictures of the late 13-year-old girl were shown.

When singing "Love on Top", the wife of Jay-Z specifically used Lyric's name to replace the word "baby". She rhymed, "Lyric, it's you/ You're the one I love/ And you're the one I need/ You're the only thing I see/ Come on, Lyric, it's you/ You're the one that gives your all/ You're the one I can always call/ When I need you baby everything stops/ Finally, you put my love on top."

At the end of the video, the former member of Destiny's Child sent a message to the late teen. "I love you with all my heart," she declared.

Beyonce's video was later reposted by Lyric's family on Instagram. "@beyonce thank you so much. I'm so grateful that Lyric was able to hear you sing to her before she left this world #yhungchanel," so read the accompaniment of the post.

In September 2020, the mother of three sent Lyric a bouquet of flowers after the latter posted old videos of her singing along to "Love on Top". The singer also gave her a note that read, "Honey, Honey, I can see the stars all the way from here, I can feel the sun whenever you're near."

"I was so moved to see how these lyrics inspired you, not nearly as much as you inspired me," the sister of Solange Knowles went on. "I can't wait to meet you one day and I'm so happy you're home safely. You are a survivor. God bless, B."

In the following month, Beyonce gave Lyric a box of stuff from her Ivy Park clothing line. Alongside a video of her family unboxing the package, the teen noted, "Thank you so much @beyonce this couldn't have come at a better time. Just got back from the getting Chemo and look at the surprise that was waiting. I love you so much### you are my Yonce."
