The up-and-coming hip-hop artist, best known for his single 'Rockstar', was reportedly gambling with some random men when the shootout broke out in Washington D.C. on Sunday, June 14.

AceShowbiz - Another hip-hop star has become a victim of street violence. Memphis rapper CEO Bezzal was killed in a shootout that occurred at Congress Street in Southeast Washington on Sunday, June 14. The D.C. police have confirmed the news.

The 21-year-old Tennessee artist, whose real name is Albert Smith, was shot about 7:20 A.M. in the 1300 block of Congress Street SE. According to The Washington Post's article on the incident, the young rapper was taken to the hospital, where he was declared dead.

A second victim was found shot on Congress Street. He's currently treated with non life-threatening injuries. No information was available about suspects or motive, but social media reports said that CEO Bezzal was gambling with a group of men that he didn't know when the incident happened.

Purported insiders told MTO News that a dispute broke out about whether one of the men playing was cheating. That's when all hell broke loose and the shootout broke out, which spilled into the streets. Another site reported that CEO Bezzal was also robbed during the incident.

Lil Baby is among those who are mourning the death of the up-and-coming hip-hop artist, who was best known for his single "Rockstar". "Streets Don’t Love Nobody. Get U Some Rest Bro DAMN," he posted on Instagram Stories along with a picture of the late rapper flaunting some cash while posing in the car.

CEO Bezzal left behind a one-year-old son, whom he shared with his longtime girlfriend. She posted a tribute on Instagram, captioning a photo of the couple wearing matching blue outfits, "Forever I love you baby." She also changed the description on her page to read, "Rest In Peace To A LEGEND KING BEZZAL."

Another acquaintance, Dee Rosebur, wrote, "Damn RIP CEO Bezzal, Lawd Knows This One Really Hit Hard On Me #YoungMEMPHISLegend #Str8 #GambleInParadise they stealing all da real ones..." CEO Bezzal's high school friend Cordarius Williams, added, "Damm CEO Bezzal best teammate had in high school and tho he was the best Defense back on the team but I was a n***a going miss you foo."

Another pal, Wood, lamented, "Ceo Bezzal just went home on me I wonder why he left men soo early. I just talked to him 2 days ago."
