Andy Samberg and his co-stars have made donation to the National Bailout Fund to help bail out Black Lives Matter protesters after 'Blue Bloods' actor donated his salary to support the BLM cause.

AceShowbiz - The cast of hit U.S. TV show "Brooklyn Nine-Nine" have clubbed together to donate $100,000 to the National Bailout Fund amid the ongoing Black Lives Matter protests in America.

Following the death of George Floyd, who was killed when a white police officer knelt on his neck for almost nine minutes during his arrest, countless people have joined forces to protest against police brutality in the country at protests.

While the majority have been peaceful, they have still resulted in numerous arrests, with many left struggling to find the money to post bail.

The National Bailout Fund network helps people in that situation, and got a huge injection of cash on Tuesday, June 2, 2020 thanks to the cast of the programme.

"The cast and showrunner of Brooklyn Nine-Nine condemn the murder of George Floyd and support the many people who are protesting police brutality nationally. Together we have made a $100,000 donation to the National Bail Fund Network," they wrote in a statement on social media.

Andy Samberg, Melissa Fumero, and Terry Crews are among the cast members in the series.

The news of the generous donation came after Stephanie Beatriz, who plays Detective Rosa Diaz in the show, separately donated $11,000 to the same organisation - explaining on Twitter, "I'm an actor who plays a detective on tv. If you currently play a cop? If you make tens or hundreds of thousands of dollars a year in residuals from playing a cop? I'll let you do the math."

Her move was prompted after Griffin Newman, who played a police officer on "Blue Bloods" for two episodes, started the call for actors who have plays cops onscreen to donate money from their salaries to the cause.
