Daytime Emmy Awards 2020, in the meantime, will air digitally as part of a two-hour live show on June 26, during which guests and nominees will appear from their homes.

AceShowbiz - The annual Emmy Awards are expected to go ahead in September, bosses from ABC and the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences have confirmed.

While the Emmys would normally have a host and other details nailed down by this time, planning for the show has been delayed due to the coronavirus crisis, according to Variety.

However, ABC Senior Vice President Rob Mills, who's in charge of alternative coverage, special and late night shows, has assured the telecast is "going to happen in some way shape or form, but we have a little bit of time".

"Because we have the benefit of time, it's much easier to figure it out. I don't know what they'll look like, but they will happen," he explained.

The first round of voting has already been moved to early July, and nominations will be announced two weeks later on July 20.

Meanwhile, this year's Daytime Emmy Awards will air digitally as part of a two-hour live show on June 26, during which guests and nominees will appear from their homes.
