The 'Uncut Gems' actor and the Los Angeles Lakers star are teaming up for a new movie called 'Hustle' which will be fronted by the former and produced by the latter.

AceShowbiz - Adam Sandler has signed up to star in a new Netflix basketball movie produced by LeBron James.

In the new film, "Hustle", Sandler will play an American basketball scout who is unfairly dismissed shortly after discovering a potential NBA superstar abroad, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

"We the Animals" director Jeremiah Zagar is on board as director, with James signed on as a producer and writers Taylor Materne and Will Fetters penning the script.

The new project follows the critical success of the "Happy Gilmore" star's previous Netflix movie, "Uncut Gems", in which he played a New York jeweller whose gambling addiction derails his business and search for a prized gem.

Sandler, a keen basketball fan, is also set to star in the upcoming family film "Hubie Halloween" alongside Kevin James, Ray Liotta, Maya Rudolph, and another NBA legend Shaquille O'Neal.

James has been moving into the entertainment sphere in recent years with his production firm, SpringHill Entertainment, and is set to star in "Space Jam: A New Legacy", a sequel to the beloved 1996 movie starring Chicago Bulls superstar Michael Jordan alongside the "Looney Tunes" cartoon characters. It is due out next year 2021.
