The former 'Fargo' actress has signed on to star as Bertha Russell in Julian Fellowes' nine-episode period drama about the millionaire moguls of 1880s New York City.

AceShowbiz - Actress Carrie Coon has joined the cast of Julian Fellowes' new period drama, "The Gilded Age".

The star has signed on for the upcoming HBO network TV show created, written and executive produced by Fellowes, the man behind "Gosford Park" and the "Downton Abbey" series and movie.

Carrie will portray Bertha Russell in the nine-episode drama about the millionaire moguls of 1880s New York City after Amanda Peet was forced to quit the project due to complications in scheduling, prompted by the coronavirus pandemic - the original spring start date for the project has been pushed back to the autumn, making Peet unavailable.

Cynthia Nixon and Taissa Farmiga are also among the cast.
