AceShowbiz - Babyface was quietly battling coronavirus. The musician, whose real name is Kenneth Edmonds, has just revealed that he and his family tested positive for the COVID-19 some time ago, but now they are on the mend.

The Grammy Award-winning artist made public of his positive diagnosis on Friday, April 10 with an Instagram post to mark his 62nd birthday. "I would like to warmly thank everyone for all the many birthday wishes today," he began his post. "I feel so blessed to be able to celebrate another birthday."

"I tested positive for the Covid19 virus, as did my family," the "When Can I See You" crooner shared. Calling the experience "an incredibly scary things to go through," he went on assuring everyone that he and his family are now doing okay. "I'm happy to report we have now tested negative and are on our way back to full heath," he added. He also wrote in the caption, "Stay Home, Stay Safe."

His recent health issue aside, Babyface also made use of the post to announce a music face-off with Teddy Riley. "With that being said......I would like to officially accept the invitation from the legendary Swizz Beatz & Timbaland to participate with my little brother, Teddy Riley in what I'd like to call a Celebration of Black Music Excellence in - Teddy vs. Babyface....," so he wrote.

He went on suggesting people how to best enjoy their performance, "So get ready for a night of groove and love. Ladies... put on you red dress...light the candles, pour some wine, and don't forget to bring your dancing shoes.."

"Teddy!!! Let's show them what Hip Hop/R&B music really means to the world!" he excitedly wrote. The music event will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 6 P.M. PST/9 P.M. EST and broadcast on Instagram Live.
