The 'Dynasty' actress recalls one of her past picnic mishaps as she invites fans the opportunity to join her for lunch to raise funds for U.K. National Health Service.

AceShowbiz - Joan Collins was once forced to flee a picnic in the South of France after being "attacked by a swarm of wasps."

The "Dynasty" star is offering fans the opportunity to join her for lunch at Claridge's in London, where they will spend the afternoon with her husband Percy Gibson and actor pal Christopher Biggins. The auction will raise cash for Britain's National Health Service.

Speaking to Britain's Daily Mail newspaper, Joan opened up on some of her past lunch date mishaps, and recalled once being forced to take shelter in France when her picnic was invaded by some unwelcome visitors.

"We were attacked by a swarm of wasps and had to lock ourselves in our house and leave the lunch to the wasps," she recalled.

Recalling another less-than-perfect occasion, she shared, "The worst one was a lunch with our best friends the Bricusses at La Colombe d'Or in Provence during France's hottest heatwave."

"As the lunch came to a sweaty end, (songwriter) Leslie Bricusse said, 'We could have stayed at home by the pool,' " she explained. "We could have used that suggestion at the beginning!"

However, she went on to recall a very different lunch with the late businessman and socialite Sir David Tang "in his cottage in the middle of (London's) Hyde Park;"

She said, "All we had to eat was a massive one kilo tin of beluga caviar - with blinis!"

Other items up for grabs at the auction to raise funds for Britain's frontline healthcare workers, which began on Wednesday, April 8, 2020, include backstage drinks with musician and TV presenter Jools Holland, artwork by Anish Kapoor, and a "Call the Midwife" experience, which features an appearance on the BBC period drama and tea with the cast. Bidding closes April 29.
