The dance music legends' generous donation comes hours before the Feed The Frontline initiative surpasses its initial goal of raising $24,600 in support of National Health Service staff.

AceShowbiz - Dance music legends Massive Attack have donated $12,300 (£10,000) to a crowdfunding campaign to supply free meals to National Health Service (NHS) staff.

The band has handed the cash to bosses at the Massive Attack, who launched their Feed The Frontline initiative last month (March).

"Back to their roots, @MassiveAttackUK Attack (sic) extremely generously boosted the #FeedTheFrontLine campaign with a mega £10k - so much love! In combination with your support and community spirit we're #StrongerTogether," a tweet from the BFU reads.

The news came hours before the initiative surpassed its initial goal of raising $24,600 (£20,000) from donations.

The "Teardrop" hitmakers have been promoting the Bristol Food Union and other similar initiatives in their native city for weeks.
