AceShowbiz - Safaree Samuels is now happily married to Erica Mena and he'd like to put his past romances in the past. That's why when someone on Instagram mentioned the name of Nicki Minaj, whom he used to date, the rapper and TV star didn't appreciate it at all.
The "Love & Hip Hop: New York" star recently shared on his Instagram account a video of her cleaning his pool during self-quarantine amid Coronavirus outbreak. "I think this is a sign from God that we all need to really just slow down. Like, everything is just so fast and nothing lasts anymore. Like, somebody dies and is forgotten in a week," he said in the clip.
"I feel like we need to value time more, more than anything. I don't think time is valued. I don't think family is valued, and we just need to, to just not take things for granted," Safaree continued. "Tomorrow or next week is really not promised. This world is locked down right now." Captioning the post, he wrote, "We need to value time more!! Do you think it's possible? I think we all need to slow down! On EVERYTHING."
While Safaree was trying to be woke, someone in the comment section decided to troll him. "Since #nickiminaj left you ,and you are not thinking right," the fan said alongside multiples crying and laughing emojis.
The remarks unsurprisingly didn't sit well with Safaree. He clapped back at the hater, writing, "Yu want attention b***h but what you should really want is a life. Lemme clean my pool in peace. Street rat."
Despite that, most people were praising Safaree for positive message. "Agree! Well said," someone commented, while another person called it "Big Facts." One other added, "I value you. You’re a great guy! Keep up the good work."
Safaree used to date Nicki from 2000 to 2014 when he served as her backup dancer. The former couple is now both moving on with their respective spouses as Nicki married his childhood sweetheart Kenneth Petty in late 2019.
Safaree is also a proud father of his baby girl, who was born in February, with his wife Erica Mena. The new dad excitedly broke the news on his Instagram account on Monday, February 3 alongside the first photo of his baby. "The past 24 hrs have been an adventure to say the least!! I’m a part of the #girldad club now," so the 38-year-old TV star wrote as he shared a sweet photo of his newborn's hand wrapped around his finger. "Perfection is here."
