The Real Madrid striker insists that he has tested negative for coronavirus twice before flying home from Spain to see his pregnant girlfriend Sofija Milosevic.

AceShowbiz - Real Madrid soccer star Luka Jovic is facing jail time after breaking a quarantine order to visit his model girlfriend.

The sportsman and his teammates were advised to self-isolate in Spain earlier this month after coming into contact with someone who tested positive for the coronavirus, but Jovic reportedly ignored the rules and flew home to Serbia to see his pregnant girlfriend, Sofija Milosevic.

The soccer star is reportedly under investigation in his homeland.

"We have negative examples of football stars who earn millions abroad and when they come back to Serbia, they don't self-isolate as is obligatory," Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic reportedly told journalists.

But Jovic insists he wasn't aware of Serbia's quarantine policy and that he has tested negative for COVID-19 twice.

"While in Spain, I tested negative for coronavirus, and I decided to travel to Serbia to help and support our people and be close to my family, in agreement with my club," he wrote on social media, according to TMZ.

"When I landed in Serbia, I again tested negative for coronavirus. I am very sorry that some people did their job unprofessionally and did not give me the correct instructions on how to behave in self-isolation."
