The father of Angelina Jolie leads prayers through his Twitter account, believing that people could 'rid this virus' because 'we are the greatest gift to mankind' and 'we are all God's children.'

AceShowbiz - Jon Voight has turned to God for help in the midst of coronavirus crisis. Making use of his Twitter account on Tuesday, March 17, the actor father of Angelina Jolie led Americans in prayers as he asked God to keep President Donald Trump safe and get rid of the COVID-19.

In an under-two-minute video, the "Ray Donovan" actor told his fellow Americans, "We will rid this virus. We will be strong because we are the greatest gift to mankind. We are all God's children." He added, "God bless this nation and the entire creation. And may God protect our president and his family. Love to you."

Kicking off the devotion video, the "Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them" actor said in the beginning, "This nation is under God, with liberty." He continued, "Joshua has lifted his ark and will show his kingdom that this virus will not wipe out his men. He will battle to the end and he will show Jesus the prayer."

Pleading with God to "bring us to our feet to love you more," the 81-year-old went on, "Oh Lord, oh our Savior, teach us more, but lift this veil over our heads and wipe away this curse that has taken us down with fear. Oh Lord, give us peace on our holy land, give us peace for our children and elders."

"Oh Lord, give us light to shine on our souls so we may be strong to fight. Oh Lord, we are all one with you ... Oh Lord give us light to shine on our souls so we may strong to fight. Oh Lord, we are all one with you."

Two days before releasing his prayer video, Voight was spotted doing some panic shopping at Gelson's Market in Sherman Oaks, California. Donning a black sleeve top, the "Surviving the Wild" actor could be seen filling his grocery basket with paper towels, cleaning supplies and other basic needs. His outing put him at risk of COVID-19 considering people over 80 are most vulnerable to the virus.
