AceShowbiz - Wedding are looming for Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez. On the same day she and Shakira celebrated Latino culture with special performances at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, it was reported that she and her retired athlete fiance have had a specific wedding date in mind.
Both the "Hustlers" actress and the former MLB star have stayed hush-hush about their wedding preparations since they got engaged on a beach in the Bahamas in March 2019. A source, however, told Us Weekly that the power couple "are getting married this summer."
It was not the first time Lopez and Rodriguez were reported to be eyeing a summer wedding. Back in 2017, Life & Style magazine claimed that the pair were planning a romantic wedding in Cuba. A source told the magazine that the two of them "know what they want, and they want to be husband and wife, sooner rather than later. They'll be married by the summer!"
Lopez and Rodriguez confirmed their romance in the spring of 2017. They made their red carpet debut as a couple at the Met Gala in New York in May the same year. Two years later, they announced their engagement with her sharing intimate photos of their beach proposal on social media.
The wedding will be Lopez's fourth and Rodriguez's second. The 50-year-old singer/actress was married to Ojani Noa, Cris Judd and Marc Anthony, with whom she shared twins, Max and Emme, while the former New York Yankees star was married to Cynthia Scurtis, the mother of his two daughters, Ella and Natasha.
In September 2019, Lopez was asked if her son, Max, would be walking her down the aisle this time around. To which question, she simply stated, "Of course." During the interview with Entertainment Tonight, she also discussed possibility of them having destination wedding. "We're talking about it, but we don't have any firm plans," she said, "and we're talking about a lot of places (to get married in) but I don't know yet. We can't narrow it down yet."
