During an appearance on 'The Talk', the Lil Nas X-collaborator on 'Old Town Road' admits that he 'just couldn't find the happy' when he was handed the trophies on the red carpet.

AceShowbiz - Billy Ray Cyrus "couldn't find the happy" after winning his first Grammy Awards, because he was too upset after Kobe Bryant's death.

The country star picked up two honours for his work on "Old Town Road" with Lil Nas X at the afternoon ceremony before the big night and was handed the awards on the red carpet, minutes after learning one of his sports heroes had died in a helicopter crash.

"I went to the Staples (Center) and within minutes of pulling up somebody pulled up the horrific news of the loss of Kobe Bryant and his daughter and the other victims and my heart just sank," he tells "The Talk".

"Quite honestly my whole day was changed... I just felt different. I didn't know I'd won the Grammys; they told me at the same time... I was on the carpet and they handed me the Grammys and they said, 'Congratulations', but I just couldn't find the happy and I'm not a good enough actor to even pretend I was happy... It's just a little different... It's just been a tough thing... It's bitter sweet."
