The Netflix movie about the composer's life with his wife, Felicia Montealegre, will be the 'American Sniper' actor's directorial follow-up to 'A Star Is Born'.

AceShowbiz - Oscar nominees Martin Scorsese and Todd Phillips are to produce Bradley Cooper's upcoming Leonard Bernstein biopic for Netflix.

Cooper will direct, star in and produce the movie, about the composer's life with his wife, Felicia Montealegre, from a script he co-wrote with Josh Singer.

Steven Spielberg, who is currently completing a new musical version of Bernstein's greatest work - "West Side Story" - will also be among the big name producers.

Scorsese was tapped to direct a Bernstein film at Paramount several years ago, but he stepped aside to allow Cooper to take over, while he focused on his Oscar Best Picture nominee "The Irishman". Paramount bosses are no longer involved with the film, according to Deadline sources. Cooper has been working closely with Bernstein's children to craft his directorial follow-up to "A Star Is Born".
