AceShowbiz - Yung Joc has broken his silence after videoof him driving for a rideshare company went viral over the weekend. In a video sent to TMZ, the 36-year-old rapper made it clear that the reason why he chose to be a rideshare driver was not because he's broke. Rather, he wanted to set an example for the youth.
Explaining about how he became a rideshare driver, Joc said that he heard about an app called Pull Up N Go in Atlanta and decided to sign up to become a driver. "Sometimes you gotta show people that you're not too big, you have to show them what humility is, and you're not too big to do the right thing, like making an honest living," he said. "I think a lot of the time our kids and even adults, go astray because they're too ashamed too prideful to do something."
The "Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta" star then continued by encouraging others to try it too for extra income, calling it "a dope idea." He almost admitted he was surprised by the reactions to the viral video, which garnered a wave of supportive messages from both his fans and colleagues. Among them was Snoop Dogg, who commented, "Hustlers hustle."
"The most phenomenal part of this whole experience … is the amount of support. I'm like, 'Woah,' " so the "It's Goin' Down" hitmaker said. " 'Cause I just knew, 'Oh, they gonna roast. Here we go.' But a lot, a lot of celebrities have reached out … I just realized that maybe people are beginning to be more mature."
Besides becoming a rapper and a rideshare driver, Joc has been kept busy with his gig on "LHH: Atlanta". In addition to that, he just opened a new night club called National African American Restaurant Night Club Expo in the city.
