AceShowbiz - Actor Stan Kirsch has died at the age of 51.

The star of the original "Highlander" TV series was found dead from a suspected suicide at his Los Angeles home on Saturday (January 11), reports TMZ.

Kirsch began his career as a child actor, appearing in small screen commercials for Campbell's soup, but his big break didn't come until the early 1990s, when he was cast as Richie Ryan on fantasy adventure show "Highlander: The Series".

He also featured in TV hits "JAG", "General Hospital" and "Friends", on which he briefly dated Courteney Cox's character, Monica Geller.

Kirsch went on to establish his own acting school in Los Angeles, where he worked as a coach.

His wife, Kristyn Green, confirmed the news of his death in a post on Facebook on Monday, writing, "I want to thank everyone for the outpouring of love and support."

"I haven't been able to respond to all the texts, calls, emails - but have read or listened to every single one of them. I feel surrounded by love and am forever grateful to each and every one of you."

Meanwhile, a tribute posted on "Highlander" official Facebook page reads, "Without Stan Kirsch, Highlander: The Series would have been far less. He brought a sense of humor, kindness and youthful enthusiasm to the character of Richie Ryan for six seasons."
