During an appearance on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', the 'Little Women' director spills that the vegan dish served at the event looks like something her nine-month-old son eats.

AceShowbiz - "Little Women (2019)" director Greta Gerwig helped avoid food waste during the Golden Globes ceremony by downing several bowls of uneaten soup.

The star attended the annual event on Sunday, January 5 and while her partner Noah Baumbach, who was nominated for his film "Marriage Story", walked the red carpet - Gerwig was inside the event at the Beverly Hilton hotel enjoying dishes from the night's all-vegan menu.

"I ate so many people's soups because they were gonna take them away before people arrived and I was like, 'I gotta eat all this soup!' It's a problem," she told "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" on Tuesday, January 7, referencing her nine-month-old son with the filmmaker, Harold. "It was like a butternut squash thing. It was like something Harold eats!".

Gerwig, who did not receive a nomination as Best Director for her film "Little Women", also revealed she was consoled by several members of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, the team of journalists who select those included in the ceremony, who insisted they voted for her.

She joked, "They all were like, 'We voted for you', and I was like, 'Well, you didn't because I didn't get nominated. So, maybe one of you did, but it's not possible that all of you did'."
