The president plays down Iran's apparent retaliation for the death of its military general General Soleimani, as Nancy Pelosi blames his administration for the 'needless provocations.'

AceShowbiz - Donald Trump has reacted after Iran launched missile strikes against Americans in Iraq in what appeared to be a retaliation for the death of its military general Qassem Soleimani. Not showing any concern, the U.S. president said on his tweet on late Tuesday, January 7 that "all is well!"

"Missiles launched from Iran at two military bases located in Iraq. Assessment of casualties & damages taking place now. So far, so good!" he added, before boasting, "We have the most powerful and well equipped military anywhere in the world, by far! I will be making a statement tomorrow morning."

The president has since come under fire for not showing any concern for the Americans in Iraq and seemingly playing down the attack. "Send one of his family members out there and let's see if all will still be well!" one sarcastically responded to Trump's tweet.

"Trump really out here playing real life Modern Warfare..," another added. A baffled user asked, "How do he even sleep at night ?" Another was in disbelief after reading Trump's tweet, commenting, "Did he say, 'all is well!' And 'so far so good' ?"

Meanwhile, Speaker of the United States House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi, has taken to her own Twitter account to express her concern about the situation and blame Trump and his administration for escalating the tension with Iran. "Closely monitoring the situation following bombings targeting U.S. troops in Iraq. We must ensure the safety of our servicemembers, including ending needless provocations from the Administration and demanding that Iran cease its violence. America & world cannot afford war," so she posted.

Over a dozen missiles were fired from Iran and hit bases where U.S. troops are housed in Iraq on Tuesday evening. White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham said right after the attack, "We are aware of the reports of attacks on U.S. facilities in Iraq. The president has been briefed and is monitoring the situation closely and consulting with his national security team."

In a tweet posted hours after the attack, Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif said the country does "not seek escalation or war." He wrote, "Iran took & concluded proportionate measures in self-defense under Article 51 of UN Charter targeting base from which cowardly armed attack against out citizens and senior officials were launched. We do not seek escalation or war, but will defend ourselves against any aggression."
