Kehlani, who collaborated with the young artist on her track 'Jealous', as well as Wale and Bas are among those who are mourning the sudden passing of the budding artist.

AceShowbiz - Hip-hop community is mourning the loss of one of its own. Budding rapper Lexii Alijai died on Wednesday, January 1. She's just 21 years old. The cause of death is not immediately revealed, but her cousin Raeisah Khan has confirmed the sad news on Facebook.

"Your a real Legend. If you know her or heard her music you'd feel chills," Raeisah posted along with a picture of the late star in a pink two-piece bikini. "Rest in paradise you'll never be forgotten. I'm so lost for words. My beautiful cousin with so much talent & Unique soul. It's too soon."

Kehlani, who collaborated with Lexii on her 2015 track "Jealous", has posted on her Twitter page to express her grief over the young star's sudden passing. "jus got the worst f**kin news ever. my heart is BROKE. F**K," she tweeted, before adding, "weakest saddest way to start a new year. i'm off this happy new year please please please please be safe out here. love on your people. please."

Still finding it hard to believe that Lexii had died, the "Gangsta" hitmaker posted again, "it's hard to have so much faith in god and that everything happen for a reason cuz it's s**t i can't imagine there ever being a reason for. why bro."

She added in another tweet, "i keep typing and backspacing... you knew what you meant to me... everyone knew what you meant... you were so special bro... i seen you fight thru it all i seen u thug it out lex... imma miss you so bad... you was about to get everything you always talked about. RIP MY BABY. I LOVE YOU LEX 4L."

"i'm angry i'm confused i'm heartbroken i'm angry i'm confused. i love you lexii. my baby was 21!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Kehlani also wrote. "this s**t was so much deeper than music... that was my little sister."

Meanwhile, fellow rapper Wale simply wrote, "Lexii ... my God man …" Bas, who is signed to Dreamville Records, echoed the sentiment as tweeting, "This is hard to comprehend. So young, talented, humble, and gracious. I was positive it was only a matter of time before the world celebrated your talent and your character. RIP Lexii."

Lexii, who is the granddaughter of singer and songwriter Roger Troutman, was also featured on Bryson Tiller's "Exchange", Meek Mill's "Cold Hearted" and Drake's "Girls Love Beyonce".
