In an interview about her upcoming comedy, the co-star of Rose Byrne and Tiffany Haddish reveals that she initially planned to artificially plump her lips to give her character an over-the-top look.

AceShowbiz - Salma Hayek abandoned plans to artificially plump her lips for her role as an outrageous beauty boss, because the first injection hurt too much.

The actress thought it would be fun to experiment with Botox and lip injections for "Like a Boss", but quickly decided that was a bad idea.

The 53-year-old tells InStyle, "I wanted to do Botox and inject my lips, which I've never done," and she asked her dermatologist pal Dr. Maurice Dray for his help.

"My friend Dr. Dray said, 'I don't know if you're going to be happy because it's going to hurt super bad'. I said, 'Well, let's give it a try'. He put the first needle in my mouth, and I immediately said, 'No! Forget it! I'm done!' "

Instead, she and the makeup team came up with another solution for her character Claire Luna's over-the-top look.

"Instead it became, 'How do I make it look like I have lip injections?' And we got these huge teeth," she reveals.

The comedy, also featuring Rose Byrne and Tiffany Haddish, hits theatres in January (20).
