AceShowbiz - People were sent into frenzy over the weekend when rumors emerged that Beyonce Knowles would be launching her very own Las Vegas residency next year. Now, the Grammy-winning singer has broken her silence on the circulating rumors through a representative.
LoveBScott was the one who made the report, alleging that Bey was gearing up to do a series of shows in the city after signing a deal that would make her "the highest-paid celebrity in the city." According to sources, she was expected to make the official announcement during the first half of 2020.
The report successfully made her fans freak out, with one stating that s/he was "fully prepared to spend $3,000. I will do anything to get front row. This is it y'all. This is not a drill." Meanwhile, one other noted that a residency made perfect sense because she is a mother to three young children. "She's a mother of 3, she's nearing her 40s... the most logical thing for her and her family is to still perform every day but also [take] care of her kids and her body." so the user said.
However, just when fans got their hopes up, the report turned out to be false. Her rep said so to Variety, stressing that her doing a Las Vegas residency is "absolutely not true."
While Bey won't be performing in Las Vegas anytime soon, she has taken the stage in the city before. Back in 2019, the "Lemonade" singer released "I Am...Yours: An Intimate Performance at Wynn Las Vegas" video album, which was recorded over a few dates during her "I Am..." world tour. Featuring performances of over thirty songs as well as behind-the-scenes footage, it stayed atop the U.S. Top Music Videos for eight weeks and was certified double platinum by RIAA.
