AceShowbiz - Lupita Nyong'o and Janelle Monae have reignited their dating rumors with the former's recent Instagram post. On Sunday, December 1, the Oscar-winning actress gave a birthday shout-out to the singer on her social media account.
The 36-year-old Mexican-born star posted a Boomerang clip of her and the birthday girl rocking Greek-inspired outfits while standing behind what looks like a dining table decorated with candelabra. She raved about the R&B artist in the caption, writing, "Happy birthday to my exceptional friend from the future, @janellemonae. I love sharing real life and real fantasy with you."
After she uploaded the post, many were convinced that Lupita and Janelle are indeed an item. "Im not the only one who think they a secret couple, am I?" one curious follower asked. Another speculated, "They deff bumpin coochies."
Echoing the previous statement, someone else wrote, "Lol you know janelle like coochie. I can see her bagging Lupita." A fourth follower agreed, "Yup! They f**kin." Another inquired, "Is that her boo?" One other user was excited for the alleged couple, writing, "Omg I want to seeeeee."
Lupita and Janelle previously sparked dating rumors after they got exceptionally affectionate during a Met Gala after-party in May. In an Instagram Live video which circulated online at the time, the "Black Panther" actress and the "Q.U.E.E.N." songstress were seen getting touchy-feely on the dance floor.
Lupita can be seen whispering something in Janelle's ear in the background. The 33-year-old singer later returned the gesture by caressing and touching Lupita's hair, while Danai Gurira stood next to them oblivious. Some sources even said that the two ladies left together after the party.
Lupita has been rumored to be interested in both women and men, though she has never publicly talked about her sexuality. It was reported that she dated her "Black Panther" co-star Danai on and off, before she has been with Janelle.
As for Janelle, she had been romantically linked to actress Tessa Thompson earlier this year, but they broke up last year. The "Thor: Ragnarok" star later moved on by dating a man.
