AceShowbiz - Slayer frontman Tom Araya bid an emotional farewell to fans in Los Angeles on Saturday, November 30 as the heavy metal stars took one final bow at their last ever concert.
The rockers, who lost founding guitarist Jeff Hanneman in 2013, have been saying goodbye to fans as part of the "Final World Tour" since May, 2018, and they brought the seventh and last leg of the trek, titled "The Final Campaign", to a triumphant end in their hometown this weekend.
The show featured tracks like "Hate Worldwide", "Postmortem", "Hell Awaits", "Raining Blood", and "Angel of Death", and as the bandmates closed the gig, fans shouted out thank you messages, prompting Araya to address the crowd and express their gratitude for the decades of love and support.
"Thank you. Thank you very much," he said. "I want to thank you for sharing your time with us. Time is precious. So I thank you for sharing that time with us. Thank you. I'm gonna miss you guys. But the most important thing (is) I want to thank you for being a part of my life. Thank you. Good night. You guys be safe."
Slayer also took a few moments to share warm hugs onstage with their crewmembers, and pose for pictures to commemorate the occasion.
The group previously declared "The Final Campaign" would mark the end of its live performances, although Slayer would not be formally breaking up as a band.
