The 'I Was Made for Lovin' You' band has been forced to axe their six-planned gig after Paul Stanley was advised to rest following a bad case of influenza and an additional infection in his throat.

AceShowbiz - KISS will fulfil plans to play an unusual gig in Australia for a crowd of just eight guests - despite the rockers cancelling their upcoming farewell tour of the country.

The group was set to head "Down Under" with its "End of the Road World Tour", but axed the trek after founding member Paul Stanley fell ill.

The star was advised "to rest due to a bad case of influenza" as he has "an additional infection in his throat requiring complete vocal rest and medication for at least two weeks", but the rest of the group will jet out to Australia to perform a concert to launch a special series of events called Airbnb Animal Experiences.

The Shark Rock City gig will see the "I Was Made for Lovin' You" band play on a glass-bottomed boat launching from the South Australian coastal town of Port Lincoln on Monday, November 18, while eight lucky fans take in the sights in the water underneath.

"As Kiss rocks out above water, you'll also get to see what's down under it," the Airbnb website reads. "Watch from a glass bottom boat as the music attracts the legendary band's biggest (underwater) fans."

Meanwhile, in his own statement addressing the cancellation of the six planned Australian gigs, Paul lamented: "Words cannot begin to convey our massive disappointment in having to cancel our End of the Road tour of your incredible country."

"We waited as long as we could and held out hope to the last minute," he added. "Doctor's orders ultimately have taken precedence and finally we now find ourselves with no choice but to surrender."
