AceShowbiz - Director Judd Apatow cannot understand why a public "tiff" with his actress wife Leslie Mann recently made headlines, because having differences of opinion keep their marriage "healthy".
The "Knocked Up" filmmaker was spotted in the midst of a heated exchange with Mann outside Los Angeles hotspot Katsuya last month (October 2019), when sources told the New York Post's Page Six the couple became involved in a "screaming fight".
Apatow played down the argument to the publication at the time, and he admits it's odd being asked to comment on domestic disputes with his wife, because they are just part of marriage.
"I've been married 22 years; I mean, I've fought at every restaurant in Los Angeles!" he quipped on U.S. talk show "The View".
"It wasn't really a fight, it was more of a tiff," Apatow continued.
"We engage, and I think that's why our relationship is healthy. Then you get a call (seeking comment), 'What do you say? We saw you guys debating something in a restaurant.' It's like, 'Really, have you been married? Do you know what marriage is?'."
The couple wed in 1997 and share daughters Maude Apatow and Iris Apatow.
