The newly-released sneak peek for the upcoming animated movie reveals the canine's fateful encounter with Shaggy and their first meeting with the rest of the gang.

AceShowbiz - The first teaser trailer for "Scoob!" has been released for fans' viewing pleasure. Courtesy of Warner Bros. Pictures, the video opens with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy going on a movie night together. While awaiting the film to play, Scooby delivers his attempt at narrating a fake trailer.

"In a world, destroyed by evil, discover the epic origin story of the greatest team of heroes in the history of mystery," the dog says in his deep, rough voice as the footage shows what looks like an alien spaceship and the team in action. Scooby's description itself perfectly fits the plot of the upcoming animated movie.

The first full-length animated Scooby-Doo adventure for the big screen, "Scoob!" is promised to reveal how lifelong friends Scooby and Shaggy first met and how they joined with young detectives Fred, Velma and Daphne to form the famous Mystery Inc.

The trailer also offers a glimpse of little Scooby and young Shaggy's fateful encounter at the beach and how the canine get his name. Later in the video, the duo meets the rest of the gang while trick or treating on Halloween as kids.

Cue to the present day, the team is facing one of their most important cases when Shaggy and Scooby are "taken" by an unknown individual or force. Shaggy and Scooby find themselves in a strangely familiar place, but they can't figure out what it is.

According to the official synopsis, "Now, with hundreds of cases solved and adventures shared, Scooby and the gang face their biggest, most challenging mystery ever: a plot to unleash the ghost dog Cerberus upon the world. As they race to stop this global 'dogpocalypse,' the gang discovers that Scooby has a secret legacy and an epic destiny greater than anyone imagined."

"Scoob!" is directed by Tony Cervone with the script written by Kelly Fremon Craig based on a story by Matt Lieberman. The movie features the voice of Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo, Will Forte as Shaggy, Zac Efron as Fred Jones, Gina Rodriguez as Velma Dinkley and Amanda Seyfried as Daphne Blake. Tracy Morgan, Ken Jeong, Mark Wahlberg and Jason Isaacs also join the voice cast.

The film is set to be unleashed in the U.S. on May 15, 2020.
