Stiller is set to sit behind the lens while Scott plays the lead role in the upcoming web television project ordered by the newly-launched streaming platform.

AceShowbiz - Ben Stiller and Adam Scott have signed on for a "Severance" series package with bosses at streaming network Apple TV+.

The new dramatic thriller sees "Big Little Lies" star Scott play the lead role while Stiller directs, and the duo will also produce the show together.

"Severance" centres around Adam's character Mark, an employee working at Lumen Industries who is struggling with a dark past while trying to get his life together.

The show, which was written and created by Dan Erickson, is the first new series order taken out by Apple TV+ bosses since the streaming platform launched last week.

Other shows on Apple TV+, including Jason Momoa's "See", Hailee Steinfeld's "Dickinson", and Ron Moore's "For All Mankind", have been renewed for a second season.
