The makeup mogul has also voiced her opinion on social media, urging the Texas government to do the right thing since 'substantial evidence that would exonerate Rodney Reed has come forward.'

AceShowbiz - Kim Kardashian is doing more than posting on social media to help release Rodney Reed, who will be executed in a few weeks for a crime he possibly didn't commit. TMZ reports that the makeup mogul has been tirelessly working behind the scenes in hopes of getting him released from prison before his impending execution.

According to the publication, Kim has been in touch with Texas government in an attempt to convince them to hold on Rodney's execution and reopen his case. This is because the "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" star believes there are new witnesses and evidence to exonerate Rodney and implicate the real killer. It's also been reported that Kim has spoken with Rodney to discuss his scheduled killing on November 20.

On Monday, November 4, Kim took to her Twitter account to beg the government to stop Rodney's execution. "PLEASE @GovAbbott How can you execute a man when since his trial, substantial evidence that would exonerate Rodney Reed has come forward and even implicates the other person of interest. I URGE YOU TO DO THE RIGHT THING," she wrote on the micro-blogging site.

Kim Kardashian urged government to release Rodney Reed.

Her move has since gained praises from social media users, including Rodney's brother who wrote, "I want you to know you are a major God-send to my family more than you ever fully realize in this lifetime. You are a blessing to all the families you advocate for. We're so glad you have publicly voiced that you also believe he is innocence."

Rodney was convicted of sexually assaulting and murdering Stacey Stites in 1996. The death row inmate, who has spent more than two decades behind the bar, has always maintained his innocence, and recently a man named Arthur Snow alleged in a statement that Stacey's own fiance confessed that he killed her for stepping out on their relationship.

This prompted Internet users to launch a petition to help release Rodney, with celebrities such as Meek Mill, Rihanna and T.I. urging people to sign the petition.
