'I had to have this shorty, so I asked her to marry me,' the 41-year-old Florida native says of his proposal to the Dominican star in a sneak peek for the new season of the show.

AceShowbiz - Whirlwind romance is surely a thing, though it looks like "90 Day Fiance" new cast member Robert might have taken it a little bit too far. The Florida native reveals that he has gotten engaged to a woman named Anny after spending just eight hours together, and this revelation undoubtedly makes a lot of people baffled.

In a sneak peek for the new season of the TLC series, Robert explained that they first met online via a mutual friend on Facebook. He said, "The first time I saw her photo, I was like, 'Yo, shorty is poppin'. She's lit,' " before explaining that they had been chatting for six months before Robert finally decided to meet Anny in person in Dominican Republic.

He got to meet the 30-year-old and spent around eight hours together, but it apparently wasn't enough for him because he later got down on one knee and proposed to her. Interestingly enough, he didn't even prepare a ring. "Anny and I only spent 8 hours together, but it was the best 8 hours in my life," he said. "So right then int here I was like, 'I had to have this shorty, so I asked her to marry me.' "

People, however, were not as excited as Robert. In fact, they couldn't believe that the 41-year-old man planned to marry a woman he barely knew. "It took him 8 hours to propose to a woman he barely knows. He's already a joke!" one said. "And I thought I was crazy for getting married after 8 months lol," another quipped, implying that Robert was crazier than her/him.

"Seems like he's thinking with his D not his heart and mind," someone else commented, with one person adding, "They were only together 8 hours? Chile that's barely a full work day and yet now she's his full-blown queen lol. These relationships always baffle me."

Robert has yet to respond to the criticism, though he already made it clear in the sneak peak that he didn't care about what people said about them. "For people who think this is crazy I say, 'What the hell, mind your business.' I don't listen to what nobody says, I go with my heart and mind," he said.
